Ginger Monkey has been open for a few years, and is settled in the beautiful mountain town of Zdiar, Slovakia.
Zdiar is slightly off the beaten track, just 20 minutes from the Slovak/Polish border. We have awesome jaw-dropping views of the High Tatras Mountains from every window and if that isn’t enough check out all this complimentary stuff.

The Ginger Monkey hostel is in a perfect location! Our local transportation has easy links Krakow, Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest and Prague. Krakow is just a couple of hours away by bus, the other cities are an easy short trip away on the train from our nearest big town Poprad.
If that sounds too much like hard work, don’t worry. Simply sit back on the deck and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
The Ginger Monkey is the perfect mountain retreat. With stunning views and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, it’s the ideal place to unwind.
There are, however, plenty of activities available. We are on the doorstep of some of the most affordable ski resorts in Europe. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities will enjoy the diverse mountain runs.
When the snow disappears, the area becomes a haven for trekkers, with hundreds of miles of routes taking you all over the mountains. You can raft along the Danajac, ride horseback through the forests or mountain-bike along the Zdiar valley trails.
